{"id":6045,"date":"2023-02-24T11:27:22","date_gmt":"2023-02-24T14:27:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tupy.com.br\/?p=6045"},"modified":"2023-03-08T11:30:07","modified_gmt":"2023-03-08T14:30:07","slug":"tupy-donates-stroke-treatment-equipment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tupy.com.br\/en\/tupy-donates-stroke-treatment-equipment\/","title":{"rendered":"Tupy donates stroke treatment equipment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The donation ceremony <\/em><em>was held on Thursday, at the S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 Municipal Hospital<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This afternoon, multinational Tupy donated equipment for the examination and treatment of patients who suffered a stroke, at the S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 Municipal Hospital.\u00a0Fernando de Rizzo, Tupy\u2019s CEO; Adriano Silva; Joinville City Mayor; Rejane Gambin, Joinville Vice Mayor; Carla Moro, the president of ABAVC; as well as city councilors and the hospital employees, attended the event.<\/p>\n<p>Less than a month of celebrating its 85th anniversary, Tupy has concern for the community as one of its values. Therefore, the Company not only seeks economic development, but also undertakes multiple social responsibility initiatives in all regions where it operates. \u201cWe were amazed by the work performed by Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Brasil AVC (a Brazilian Stroke Association), to whom we are making the donation, resting assured that the Association will bring health, comfort and joy to many families,\u201d stated Fernando de Rizzo, the CEO of Tupy.<\/p>\n<p>Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Brasil AVC (ABAVC) received the equipment that will benefit the S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 Municipal Hospital, which has specialized services for patients who suffered a stroke. The equipment will contribute to enhancing diagnosis, treatment and rehab for these patients and includes a Transducer, a fundamental device for the use of Transcranial Doppler (equipment that was idle for over 4 months and is used to study brain circulation); a Cycle Ergometer (an exercise bike that helps patients recover motor function in a playful and interactive manner); and Pneumatic Compression Devices (used to replace anticoagulants, in the prevention of thrombosis in<br \/>\nbed-bound patients).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Tupy-ABAVC partnership was formed so that the S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 Municipal Hospital can offer patients improved treatment. The hospital is responsible for serving 87% of the residents of the city of Joinville. Moreover, as a reference hospital for our macroregion, 25% of its inpatients come from these cities,\u201d highlighted doctor Carla Moro, the president of ABAVC.<\/p>\n<p>In Joinville, approximately 1,200 health care services are provided annually at the S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 Municipal Hospital for people who suffered a stroke. The hospital is recognized for being the first Brazilian public hospital to receive a quality health care certification by the World\u00a0Stroke\u00a0Organization.\u202f\u202fStroke is considered the second cause of death and the first cause for disability in Brazil. ABAVC is a not-for-profit civil institution founded in 2005, in Joinville.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6016\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tupy.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Doacao-de-materiais-Hospital-Sao-Jose-13.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"3840\" height=\"2560\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>About TUPY\u202f<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Brazilian multinational company that designs and manufactures cast iron structural components with highly complex geometry and metallurgy.
