Developed in partnership with Ricardo PLC, a global reference company in engineering and environmental consulting specialized in the transport, energy and scarce resources sectors, is an alternative to be applied to hybrid vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Details about the project will be presented at international congresses as of 2022. The solution developed uses Tupy\u2019s knowledge and experience in the development of metal alloys. Currently, with the Compacted Graphite Iron (CGI), we can say that the blocks that use it have the same robustness and strength of iron, but lighter, similar to aluminum blocks.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In this project, we have advanced and managed to offer a weight about 5% below the aluminum components, which is quite challenging, considering that the density of iron compared to aluminum is almost three times higher. In the validation of proof of concept, in addition to adequate structural strength, we observed additional benefits such as noise reduction\u201d, says Andr\u00e9 Ferrarese, executive officer of Tupy Tech, Company\u2019s disruptive R&amp;D front.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Tupy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Brazilian multinational company that designs and manufactures cast iron structural components with highly complex geometry and metallurgy.
