the Metallurgical Engineering is
hardly remembered. However, the
moment something shows a greater
complexity, all attention turns to
the team of engineers and
technicians specialized in
metallurgy. They are responsible
for giving technical assistance to the
manufacturing plants, in all metallurgical
processes as well as for supplying services for the
introduction of new processes or the use of new materials.

Responsible for the introduction of the CGI (Compact Graphite Iron) in the manufacture of engine blocks and heads, a peculiarity that allowed Tupy to conquer a special position in the international market, the area of Metallurgical Engineering is always trying to be ahead of customers’ needs and expectations. Therefore, it works hard also in the search for cost reduction and productivity increase, besides taking care of the technical standardization of raw-materials, which, later, will guide purchases and suppliers’ qualification, as well as the standardization of new metallurgical processes, later systematized by the Quality Engineering Department.
